Come celebrate a major upgrade to our public health – Quiet Zones! Too bad we had to trade access to our trails and hills to get them. The irony of celebrating quiet zones contrasted with the empty “ghost trains” running each day is a lot like saying we’re a healthy city and approving warehouses 50 feet from our back doors. Some of us are celebrating long overdue quiet Summer nights without train horns. What about the neighbors in Sycamore Highlands? Their quiet nights are going to be gone forever. Not so sure we should be celebrating just yet.
