UCR Students Want City Rental Rules Changed

Mike Beaumier, UCR Grad Student RenterIn the UCR neighborhood, or any other neighborhood in the city for that matter, balancing affordability and longevity  are two values that give cities personality, desirability and attractiveness.We call that quality of life.

Depending on one’s perspective, student renter or homeowner, friction arises as a result of how those values are.weighted and expressed. It looks quite different from the perspective of¬† a temporary resident on the way to a degree and a life somewhere else, than it does from a homeowner who has planted roots and made a commitment of time and resources. .
